The DeSantis ad was definitely cringe-worthy. It’s profoundly disturbing to realize there are voters who will nod their heads at every creepy bit of it. For authentic Christians, it should be perceived as blasphemy.
The distinction between Paul Harvey and Ron DeSantis probably doesn’t need clarifying, but Harvey was honoring someone else; DeSantis was as usual, comparing himself favorably to The Almighty. [I am poorly educated in theology, but I do understand that’s a no-no!]
Just subscribed a couple of days ago. Always enjoy your more optimistic view of how the mid terms will go. I hope I will will be reading a gloat filled newletter (or whatever these are called) on Wednesday.
I hope so to my friend. If I end up having to eat crow, I'll do it. I'd rather eat crow after having tried to keep hope alive than not having tried at all.
Hey, Mr Cynic, where are you. I was hoping to hear your thoughts from Tuesday. I feel pretty happy with the results. Haven't seen you over at JVLs site either. Hope you are well.
TFG can make those nicknames look easy because he has plenty of people smarter than he helping out behind the scenes. I'd bet good money that he didn't come up with that admittedly excellent nickname on his own.
So far, so good regarding this election cycle. I've done my part (voted early) and am coping by turning away from all media when my stress starts to rise. I'm also knitting my daughter a fairly complex sweater; knitting is both a wonderful stress release and a productive hobby for me.
Edited to add: I just found a "Daily Beast" article on Yahoo News covering GQP pushback on TFG for dinging DeSantis (https://news.yahoo.com/wingers-turn-trump-mocking-desantis-011256443.html). The article states that Roger Stone used the nickname "about a week ago." It'll be interesting to see how deep it goes and how long it lasts.
I think Trump is good at hurtful nicknames because he’s been doing it his whole life. But I do question the originality of this one; a whole lot of syllables! Many, many syllables.
Good! And I did.

Paul Harvey would reach out of the grave and smack DeSantis upside his head for that awful take on Harvey's "God made a farmer" radio bit.

Oh, I didn’t recognize that DeSantis is a plagiarizer in addition to a blasphemer. That tracks.

Thank you Linda, I appreciate the sub bigly!

But I don't think I'll be eating it. ;)

I took a day off. It's been exhausting trying to be so upbeat! ;)
I just posted another newsletter a few minutes ago. I hope you like it.

The best syllables.
He probably didn't come up with it. But that delivery made it :chef's kiss:
His voice has grated on my ears for decades, so I didn't listen to the clip you shared.
I listen so you don't have to.
