Thank you for highlighting these bills. They're every bit as troubling as federal legislation, because the red states seem to be trying to outdo each other for hypocrisy and destruction of civil liberties.

You are no doubt correct. I'm fortunate enough to be in a state that has remained steadily blue so far, although there are mutterings of discontent. Our governor is term limited, and I see that as our next major bellwether.

I'm in one of the reddest parts of Florida and I'm planning on moving back to New England as soon as I'm able.

The phenomenon of doubling down worked for Trump (inexplicably), and it’s kind of fascinating to observe from a decent distance, because it goes against every know feature of social interaction.

I wonder if the Republicans of South Carolina gave much thought to how they would monitor every fertilized human egg, in order to execute the mother. I can’t believe I wrote those words, and that they are relevant.
